We have changed the size of the drill bit for hammer shanks. The new drill bit is now 4.85mm in diameter.
Everyone that has purchased hammer drills in the past will be supplied with the new drill bit. In addition, we will include the new drill bit in every set of shanks and flanges for a period of time.
The reason for the change is we have changed the glue used to attach hammers to the shanks. The new glue does not require the shanks to be roughened to achieve a good bond. For this reason, we have stopped sanding the shanks. Because of this, the shank is slightly larger. The new drill bit, at 4.85mm diameter, is now the correct size for the un-sanded shank.
