Knuckles
Constructed in the traditional manner, WNG knuckles are an outstanding choice. First, a dense white cloth is wrapped over a dark hardwood core. Then, synthetic buckskin is stretched around the white cloth and glued to the wooden core. The knuckle is then cut to 11.5mm in width.
Why synthetic buckskin? Simply put, it lasts longer.
On our test stand, after 20,000,000 blows, synthetic buckskin was still going strong while the natural buckskin was worn through. In addition, synthetic buckskin has a self-lubricating quality that reduces friction and squeaking knuckles.
The wooden core of the knuckle is made from a dark hardwood so that regulating the jack to the knuckle is easy. The knuckles come in three diameters, 8mm, 9mm and 10mm.
